May 2003 - April 2019
As a Detective, my primary functions were to investigate state crimes as well as provide assistance to the Patrol Division in initial and follow-up investigations. This included tasks such as the investigation and processing of crime scenes, the drafting and execution of search warrants and arrest warrants, and the interviewing of suspects and witnesses. I worked on a wide range of investigations ranging from theft to robbery and murder. I was also a certified digital forensics examiner and maintained the only digital forensics laboratory in the county. As a result, I have been qualified as an expert witness / Subject Matter Expert and have testified in this capacity in both state and federal court on multiple occasions.
I was the sole person responsible for designing and implementing the entire digital forensics program from the ground up. This included designing the physical layout and physical security features of the laboratory as well as maintaining the hardware, software, and evidence storage.
